Sources:

  • Brewer’s yeast
  • Vegetables: Broccoli, green beans
  • Herbs and spices: Garlic, Basil
  • Beef and Poultry
  • Fruit: apple, banana, grapes

 

Deficiency is very common.

 

Uses:

  • Enhances the action of insulin, helps to regulate blood sugar levels and prevent diabetes.
  • Can reduce cravings
  • Assist in carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism
  • Is needed for good eye health, correct eye pressure and focusing ability. May prevent Glaucoma.

 

Small doses regularly are best to balance blood sugars.

 

Medication interactions:

Can potentiate metformin and make it more effective. Great addition if you are looking for an alternative to a dose increase, or if you are wanting to reduce your dose and still get a benefit.

 

Fun Fact:

Chromium 6 (hexavalent) is the toxic form of chromium resulting from industrial pollution. It is the toxin that Eric Brockovich fought so hard to protect her community against.
